What is Devon & Cornwall Master Thatchers Association?
The Devon and Cornwall Association was started in 1947 by a government initiative to improve the standard of thatching throughout the counties. This is still a non-profit association that seeks to ensure all work carried out by it’s members is of the highest standard.
Members meet four times a year to discuss thatching issues such as latest Building Regulations, fire prevention and quality of materials. We also hold thatching demonstrations to promote our craft at events and local shows.
The Association upholds rigorous standards and specifications to ensure thatch owners can employ any member with complete confidence.
Devon County Show
The Devon and Cornwall Master Thatchers Association regularly attend local and county shows to carry out thatching demonstrations.
